Durning the tutorial this week, we shared and discussed our findings and thoughts about potential future scenarios in four different themes, regional, virtual, suburban, and urban. Firstly, we discussed the future scenario of regional theme. The regional theme needs to be sustainable, and we considered from three aspects, resources, energy and shelter. We discussed influencing factors of each aspects and the relationship of each aspect. After that we talked about virtual theme, we came up with a lot of ideas, and we thought the key points of virtual theme are communication, experience, and good/bad aspects. About the suburban theme, we believed it has some realtion with virtual theme as the suburabn will be used as retail closure. The lifestyle and social communication will be changed in the future because we are over-reliance on technology. However, we can change many spaces to green area or public places. At last, we discussed the future scenario of having toll charge in Brisbane CBD. It will reduce the number of private cars in city and improve the traffic. So it is a sustainable idea and improve the development of Brisbane city.
After the discussion, I prefer to choose the regional theme as my first choice, because I like the feeling of closing to nature, and I believe sustainability will be one of the most important issues in the future.
